ABOUT
ME

Amanda Empey
I'm a clarinetist and "retired" band teacher living in Twin Falls, ID. I taught 8 years at Blackfoot High School and recently quit to stay home with my 2 twin boys who are nearing one year of age. I've been married to my husband Bret for 7 years August 2024. My family is my very greatest blessing.
I graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2014 with my Bachelor's Degree is Music Education and followed up with my Master's Degree in Clarinet Performance from Boise State University. I studied under the "tootelage" (pun intended) of very excellent music professors including (but certainly not limited to) Diane Soelberg, Bill Holman, Adam Ballif, Leslie Moreau, Marcellus Brown, and Joe Tornello.

Now as a stay-at-home mother, I'm expecting to continue my music career by continuing to teach private lessons where I can. I hope to maintain my contact with the band world as an adjudicator or band clinician. I also will dabble at various music projects for fun!

When I'm not doing music, I love to read, sketch, and spend time with my family playing games or going on adventures around Idaho. My sweet boys take up a lot of my time, and I love spending that time with them. Having a full-time mother in the home was a blessing for me as a child and I hope to give that to my children as well. That being said, I'd love to make it a goal to continue to keep up with music and adventuring.
